Doesn't he look so grown up. I tried to get a picture without the Poptart and juice, but he wasn't having any part of it. It is getting pretty cool here in the mornings so the kids have been wearing jeans to school. When I put these on him, he looked so grown up I couldn't believe it. Time is going by so fast!

Through my Children's Eyes
With work, house cleaning, dinner, and day to day life it is easy to forget to stop and remember to look at life through my children's eyes. I love taking pictures of the kids all the time, fortunately, I happen across a few like these that help me remember!
Cake time
Ani wanted to make a cake and of course, they had to do it together. Ani is so funny. She is always showing Ruston how to do stuff. She explained to Ruston what we had to do each step. She was helping him stir.
Inseparable
These two are inseparable. They just don't know what to do when the other one isn't around. They were sitting in the basket watching sponge bob.
Bubbles
What is more fun than playing in a million bubbles first thing in the morning. According to Ruston - nothing. He loved it. When the rest of the kids finally rolled out of bed it took them a while to think the bubbles would be fun.
Growing up
I can't believe how big Tobias has gotten. He is 4 years old now and getting bigger every day. He sure did miss his big sister while she was with us for two weeks.
Monkey see. . .
Ani and Syrina had so much fun playing together during Syrina's two week visit. When we went school clothes shopping they had to have Hannah Montana shirts, of course they had to match!
Opa
A first visit from Opa. I ended up on night shift, but was able to stay up some after I came home from work to visit.
FIRST DAY!
Her first day of school. She has been so excited. Asking when and how many more days. They declared it Ani day at daycare the day before since it was her last day. They did what ever Ani wanted to do. She wanted cake, they made her a cake. Boy is she spoiled. When it was time to go, she walked into the room and threw open her arms and said, o.k. who wants a hug! I think we have created a monster! So we are off. I went to work late so I could take her to school this morning. She asked for two ponytails in her hair so it would be cute. Did I mention, monster?!
On her way
At this point, I thought I might cry, she knew where to go and she certainly didn't need her Mommy! What a big girl. We went to the open house the night before and she went to her class saw her teacher. She was pretty excited.
Going to class
It was time to go into her class room and the waterworks had already started. They had all of the students wait outside of the class rooms in the morning and I waited with her. I really think this was the down fall. It was loud, and a lot of kids, parents, etc. It was a little overwhelming. She didn't want Mommy to leave.
Total Meltdown
She lost it. We didn't make it more than 5 steps past the last picture when she started totally lost it. She went absolutely hysterical. Crying and at one point screamed when another teacher touched her. We finally made it into the class room and I tried to distract her with the stuff in the room. Didn't work. So you ask, how were the other kids? Quietly sitting at their desk playing with puzzles. She was saying I am too young to stay here. I am little to stay. I don't want to learn to read. I want to go back to day care. I don't want to stay here. All in all it was one of her best Dramatic moments - ever. It was pitiful. She even sat down on my foot and held on to my leg and said Mommy don't leave me. Now as a Mom you have a couple options, breakdown and cry, get mad, or laugh. It was so over the top, I choose to laugh. I know that sounds mean, but it was just soooo pitiful. Seriously - look at that face. I finally had to have a teacher pull her off of me and drag her back into the class room. Two minutes later she was just fine and playing. When Mamaw picked her up she was full of smiles. I knew she would be fine. I just had to make her let go. Some day she will have to teach me the same. . . .

Happy 4th of July!
The kids liked the few big fireworks that we had this year and Mamaw enjoyed having them on her lap watching them. She is enjoying the time she is able to spend with them now that she lives so close. They are enjoying it too.
Sparkler
What a smile. He thought this was a lot of fun. The only problem is he wanted to bring the sparkler much too close. I couldn't let go.....
Where did he go?
Has anyone seen my baby? I woke up today and he was gone, this adorable little boy was in his place. This can't possibly be my son. He is much too big, much too old. Why do all of these moments go by in a flash?
Yuck. nake
The kids like the silly snake things you can always get on the 4th. But Ruston would keep saying Yuck, nake, yuck, nake.
Ruston made it too
Ruston wanted to go with sister so bad, so finally we let him go. The first time she waiting and helped him through. The barriers inside were MUCH bigger than him, but he did it. He couldn't make it up the slide at the end, fortunately I could get him out.
Ani is Dancing!?
Ani was watching a movie and at the end she decided to dance to the music. This is her version of the "guitar" move. What a funny little girl. Where does she get this stuff??? Ruston tried to dance with her which was pretty funny to. He can't pull the guitar move, but he can wiggle his bottom with the best of them.

Playground?
Nope, just our back yard - of course, no grass yet. I know what is the problem. Well, too much rain, putting trenches in the yard, yard guy can't level the yard to put in the sprinklers and plant the grass. It is a never ending cycle that looks like we will get to plant in September!! Argh! Oh, well, at least it isn't mud, most of the time. . . ;)
16 hours
Yep, 16 hours and a sunburn; that is what it took to put this thing together. Virgel has threatened that they better play on it or he is going to make them sleep in it!
swingset
The swings are a big hit! Ruston loves to go higher and higher. He SCREAMS Momma when he wants to be pushed again. He is a total MESS!
Trampoline
Mamaw decided that Ani and Ruston needed a trampoline so that was part of his Birthday present! Oh, they are loving it!
Bike!
I found the smallest bike I have ever seen for Ruston's birthday. He has been getting on Ani's which is much too big for him (this week). So, when I found this one I couldn't resist. He was so excited when I showed him. He instantly left the cake behind and yelled BIKE!

Look who's two!
Yep, our little boy is two years old. It is hard to believe two years has gone by already. He is a good little man and does so much and says so much for a two year old. Of, course he has entered those terrible twos, but we expected that. He is a total boy, he loves trains, cars, balls, and digging in the dirt. He is at the 90th percentile for his height and still getting taller. He is going to pass Ani up before we know it! Happy Birthday Little Man!

Train ride at the Lincoln Zoo
We spent the day last Sunday at the Lincoln Children's Zoo. The train ride was actually the last thing we did and the kids were pretty hot and worn out by this time, but it was a fun day. I am glad we had a chance to go and get away from the house for a day.
Peacock
Pretty as a peacock - This peacock was just sitting next to the walk way, waiting for a picture. It started squawking when we walked away. Boy are they loud!
Butterflies
The kids loved the butterflies. They were everywhere. The kids were good about sitting still and watching them.
pony ride
Ani - the one who is scared to death of dogs and cats, even Aunt Sharon's little bitty dog wanted to ride a pony like the other kids. I just knew when we got up to them she was going to change her mind. Boy was I wrong. They had three ponies to choose from. Ani picked the BIGGEST one! Yep the biggest one. As you can see, she wasn't scared at all and loved the ride. What a big girl!

I am back!!!!
For those of you who thought I was never coming back, I am HERE!!! The 25 days of night shift turned into 47. I was starting to worry that we might not make it to Lake Powell for our vacation on the 24th. But we did. We spent a week on a house boat on Lake Powell - it was gorgeous. Here are some pictures. I hope you enjoy them. Look for more, and more frequently - I promise. . . .
The four cousins
These four are not together very often, so i is awesome to get them together, even if for a little while. Hopefully, we can get them together soon, for more than a couple of hours.
Slot Canyon
This is a Slot canyon. The water rushes down the mountain and carves it way down to the bottom. It is an awesome place to be - except when it is raining!
Relaxing
The top of the boat was a nice place to catch some sun. It was a little cool at the first of the week, but warmed up nicely.
Three Amigos!
These three had a total blast. It looks like they were really high, but it wasn't too bad.
Climb Mountain
Ruston loved the Mountains and really loved climbing. He would say, "Come on, Momma, Climb Mountain" And he certainly didn't want help. He wanted to do it all him self. As you can see he certainly could! Should I remind you he isn't 2 yet!
