For those of you who thought I was never coming back, I am HERE!!! The 25 days of night shift turned into 47. I was starting to worry that we might not make it to Lake Powell for our vacation on the 24th. But we did. We spent a week on a house boat on Lake Powell - it was gorgeous. Here are some pictures. I hope you enjoy them. Look for more, and more frequently - I promise. . . .

The four cousins
These four are not together very often, so i is awesome to get them together, even if for a little while. Hopefully, we can get them together soon, for more than a couple of hours.
Slot Canyon
This is a Slot canyon. The water rushes down the mountain and carves it way down to the bottom. It is an awesome place to be - except when it is raining!
Relaxing
The top of the boat was a nice place to catch some sun. It was a little cool at the first of the week, but warmed up nicely.
Climb Mountain
Ruston loved the Mountains and really loved climbing. He would say, "Come on, Momma, Climb Mountain" And he certainly didn't want help. He wanted to do it all him self. As you can see he certainly could! Should I remind you he isn't 2 yet!
Middle of no where
No Cell phones, some times the CB radio didn't even work, but thankfully we had the portable DVD player. Modern technology truly does make being out in the middle of no where a little easier!
Friends
I enjoyed my week with Virginia. I have missed my friends here, not only Virginia and Joe, but all of my friends back in Florida and Mississippi. I can't wait to see you all again soon! I love you, Gen.
Rocks!
This was Ruston's favorite thing to do. He threw rocks into the lake ALL week long. We actually had to get him a little pile of rocks at one point so he wouldn't have to walk so far and make me worry about him falling!
The end of the canyon
This is the end of West Rock Canyon. We walked all the way to the end one afternoon. It was a nice - hot - dry walk, with beautiful views. I say is was a walk and it mostly was, we only had to climb some of the time.
Jurasic rock
It looks like someone actually wrote on these rocks, but it is actually part of the rock. We read in a book that is was formed during the Jurasic period. It was pretty neat.
Thank goodness
for video games. There is nothing like "camping" with Nintendo aboard ship. We even had a Wii The kids got pretty good at tennis and bowling while aboard at night!
Monument Valley
Now, on our way to Lake Powell, I drove the second part after Denver at night. The roads were Terrible, no shoulders, and rough. I gripped about it all night and the next day. It wasn't until our trip home that we realized that part of the trip was actually through the Navajo Nation and right through the middle of Monument Valley. Needless to say it was a better trip in day light!
Mexican Hat
This rock formation was just outside of, well, Mexican Hat, Utah. Obviously named after the rock formation. Wonder how long this is going to stay this way. I also thought the mountains in the back ground were pretty.
