Getting Bigger every day!
Isn't he adorable in his hawaiian shirt! He has three different ones! He smiles a lot now and we actually got a laugh out of him. Ruston is getting bigger everyday. He had his two month shots on Monday and did very well. He slept for 2 1/2 hours after the shots. He now weighs 13 pounds and is 22 3/4 inches long.
Good bye Ernesto
The storm has come and gone with little to show other than shutters on houses. We didnt' get much wind or rain here. Most importantly we didn't loose power. In preparing for the storm, we did get our yard cleaned up and anything that could move put away. So, we are now ready to leave for our trip without worrying about the house if another storm pops up. I am thankful for our new storm shutters that are clear. You can still see the light of day inside the house with them up, which is nice since they will be up until after we get back home. We can't wait to see everyone. Time to get packing. . . .

Go Away Ernesto!
Well, here we go. The down side to living in such a beautiful place is the very real threat of hurricanes! The current track of Ernesto is heading straight for us. Of course, we all know these things can change, so it is a wait and see game. The good news is it looks like a Category 1 storm when it gets to us. The housing is built so well here (our house is made out of concrete) that a category 1 storm is not that big of a deal, as long as you are prepared. Wilma was a category 3 storm and there was very little structural damage. My only concern is power. To get to Key Largo you drive down an 18 miles stretch of highway and small bridges. Along side the road is the only power lines coming down. So it is very easy for us to lose power. Being without power with Ani after Katrina was little fun. I expect it will be even less fun with Ani and Ruston. We were one of the few that were able to purchase a generator after Katrina and we have lots of gas on hand. We are putting up our shutters and have a ton of non perishable food and water. I am going out today to get the last few things we need. We just have to make it until Friday when we fly out for our trip to Arkansas and Mississippi. We can't wait!
