Garden results

It has been a long time since we have had a garden! Virgel is pretty happy about having purple hull peas again. I must admit, my dinner with fresh fried okra was pretty awesome. No one around here knows what either one of these things are! With peas, there is growing peas, then shelling peas. Virgel has LOTS of help. It was pretty cute. They both thought they were helping out so much!

Back to the Zoooooo!

Be careful what you ask for! We don't watch the news much. Sometimes it would be a REALLY good idea. The kids said they wanted to go back to the zoo, so we thought - why not. Off we went. Well, we didn't realize that it was the 100th anniversary of the Mutual of Omaha and they were celebrating by a FREE minor league baseball game at Rosenblatt (right next to the zoo) AND FREE entry to the zoo. So, the four of us ended up being four of the 40,000 people at the zoo that day!!!! Yes, that was 40,000!!!! We got there late enough the game was over and a lot of people had left, but is was still crazy. At least it was free!!

The aquarium

Of course, we had to go back to the aquarium again. I think that is where most of the people were as well. You couldn't hardly move. They even had the emergency exits open!
