Let it snow, Let it snow
O.k. I think I used that title already, but what else can I say. We have had snow on the ground since before Thanksgiving. We had over a foot of snow accumulated at one point. I thought it might all melt away, but with about 6 inches of snow in the last 24 hours that isn't going to happen any time soon. It was a 3 degrees earlier tonight with a promise of getting colder. Now, I am not complaining, just noting the stark difference in our environment from just a year ago when I was posting pictures of the kids playing in the ocean at this time of the year! We are really enjoying our new house and thrilled at how warm it stays. We often think about how cold our old Mississippi house would be on cold days. This house is nothing like that. The kids started at a new school that is closer to our work in January. We are really happy about that. We were driving about 50 miles from work every day, now it is about 15. Not only is it a time saver it is a gas saver too! The kids seem to really like it and are adjusting well. We will have more adjustments too come in the next few weeks. Next weekend Virgel is going to get his Mom. She is going to move up here. We have found her an apartment that is less than 1/4 mile from us. We have never, since we have been married lived so close to family. It will be nice, but take a little getting use to. I am glad that the kids will be so close to their Mamaw. I know she will be a big help to use during outages and when work is a little crazy. I know she has been lonely since Buddy passed away, so it will be good for her. It will be a big adjustment since she has lived in her house for the last 30 years. I am sorry I don't call all of you as often as I want, but I hate to take time away from the kids in the evenings, I know you all understand. It seems like everything settles down, it is too late too call. I think of you all often and miss everyone. Come see us, we have plenty of snow to play in!
