This is the end of West Rock Canyon. We walked all the way to the end one afternoon. It was a nice - hot - dry walk, with beautiful views. I say is was a walk and it mostly was, we only had to climb some of the time.

Jurasic rock
It looks like someone actually wrote on these rocks, but it is actually part of the rock. We read in a book that is was formed during the Jurasic period. It was pretty neat.
Thank goodness
for video games. There is nothing like "camping" with Nintendo aboard ship. We even had a Wii The kids got pretty good at tennis and bowling while aboard at night!
Monument Valley
Now, on our way to Lake Powell, I drove the second part after Denver at night. The roads were Terrible, no shoulders, and rough. I gripped about it all night and the next day. It wasn't until our trip home that we realized that part of the trip was actually through the Navajo Nation and right through the middle of Monument Valley. Needless to say it was a better trip in day light!
Mexican Hat
This rock formation was just outside of, well, Mexican Hat, Utah. Obviously named after the rock formation. Wonder how long this is going to stay this way. I also thought the mountains in the back ground were pretty.
Dinasour
Yep at the gas station. It was a long ride home and they would do anything to get out of the car!

Going to night shift
Scooter time
Finally, we have him ON the scooter instead of pushing the scooter! Virgel was pushing him around and he finally agreed that is was a little bit more fun. I think we are still a little time away from him powering the scooter on his own!
Driving
Brother was playing on her toys so, fair is fair. We are struggling with sharing these days. Neither one likes it, except when they are the one getting to play with something. It didn't take long before Ruston wanted his car back. It was easy to tell when he went running to his car yelling "MINE"
Ahhh, Dirt!
Finally, he gets to play in dirt. He really is all boy. Ani has no interest in playing in the dirt and he was as happy as he could be. Hopefully we will plant some grass soon. Well, it will make me happy. Maybe I should leave a little spot of dirt for my boy!
Sliding
Ani wont go anywhere these days with out a baby in her arms. Hey, anyone volunteer to come brush that hair. Yikes, what a mess. Here is one more Nebraska thing we have learned - it is windy here.
What???
I told you Ruston liked that make up kit. This isn't the last time we caught him putting the lip gloss all over his cheeks. He is so proud of himself!
Presents
Finally, she gets to open the presents. Princess Barbies with matching horses, a chest of dress up clothes, an Aurora dress up outfit, a makeup kit (Ruston likes that one to) and a Barbie doll house. All in all a pretty good haul! And a good birthday.
In a box
I bought a canister of helium for balloons and Ani actually fit inside. It is hard to see the size, but it is really small! I was even able to close the lid.
Make a wish
Time for cake. Ani picked out this cake all on her own. I had a hard time figuring out where to put the candles! She blew them all out on her first try. Then I had to figure out how to cut it!!! That was the hard part. As you can see Ruston showed up for the food! Mamaw kept him entertained during the party. She enjoyed being at Ani's birthday party for the first time.
Pin the patch on the pirate
Spin them around three times and see where they go. They were pretty cute. There were a couple of cheaters among the group, they got the patch right where it was suppose to go. Hummm. suspicious!!!
Treasure chests
All of the princesses had treasure chests with jewels to decorate them with. They had a lot of fun. After they were decorated it was time to fill them with TREASURE. Pirates had hidden golden coins all through the living room for them to find. They had a lot of fun hunting for them. I think the main Pirate (me) hid some of them a little bit to well. We had to help them out just a little!
Princesses and Priates
Happy Birthday Ani!!! You are 5. I can't believe it. You are such a big girl. We had a Pirate and Princess party. We only had one pirate and unfortunately he was a crying pirate. His sister was a crying princess as well - the one sitting next to him. They didn't stay long, their dad had to take them home. The rest of the princess had a good time! It was so fun having them all dress up in the same dress.
tickles
Ruston has the best laugh ever and just loves to be tickled! Of course, that means he gets tickled a LOT!

Sliding
He will do exactly what Ani does, or at least try. So when she went for the big slide so did he. He laughed all the way down. I wish we could have let them play longer, but he has been so sick that we were afraid to let him get too cold! We are starting to see his true little temper and it came out again when we left the park!!
We hope you all had a Great Easter. Miss you and love you all!
A few minutes at the park
We played at the park for a little while. We were hoping that the wind wouldn't blow, but it was so we didn't stay long. They both enjoyed the slide and were not happy when we made them leave. After all, it was only 40 degrees!!!
Ridin
at least for 30 seconds, then she crashed and that was the last of riding this scooter in the house. This one could make a mess of the floor! We let her ride it in the garage and in just a few minutes she got the hand of it. No riding without the helment, though!
What is in those baskets??
Ani made sure to find out everything that was in the baskets and was pretty happy to find the M&Ms on the bottom!!
The Easter Bunny came!
Ani woke us up and told us the Easter Bunny had come while she was sleeping. More importantly, he brought them scooters. Ruston grabbed his right away and started pushing it around. We tried to get him to ride it, but he seemed to like pushing it this way the best for now!
Eggs!
The kids had lots of fun decorating the eggs this year. Ani was obviously dressed up as Snow White for the day. We made it through without too much color on things other than the eggs!
Peak a boo
Ruston was hiding in our closet from Virgel when he told him it was time to take a shower.

Still here, just BUSY!
Dressing by herself
Yup, I have a lot of work to do. This is what my beautiful daughter decided to wear. I told her it was cold and she had to wear something warmer. So, she sort of got it. She put on what I told her, then what she wanted over the top. For a total of three shirts! Stubborn doesn't even begin to describe it!
Elefun!
Catchin' the butterflies. They had a great time playing. Ruston couldn't catch very many so he would pick them off of the floor.
pouring concrete
I know this isn't an exciting picture for you, but if you knew what we have gone through waiting for this driveway, it would be. We were thrilled to see that they were working on the driveway when we woke up. Soon the concrete truck was on its way. No more driving in the mud, no more mud in the garage, no more muddy shoes. Of course, it all would have been a little better if we had a little grass. That is next !
Choo choo
Ruston loves playing with his trains. I am not sure where the hat came in. Maybe it has something to do with being born in Florida???
Happy Valentines Day
Mamaw got both the kids heart balloon for Valentine's Day. They loved them. They both had a great day at school and at the Valentine's parties. They were both on sugar highs when they got home. We finally had to hide the candy!
Picaso or Ruston???
Yep, Ruston. He likes to color a LOT! The walls are his favorite. Thank goodness for Magic Erasers. This was only his first artistic expression. He has since colored this very wall - to a larger scale - three times. Now you are thinking, take the crayons away. I have, they have them hidden. I am sure of it. He keeps finding one. I think he stashed them. We have been a week with no more drawings, maybe I have them all!
ELMO!
Ruston has discovered Elmo. This was Ani's Elmo that he now loves. He was giving it rides through the house. I asked him what he had he said E -L - M - O !
New Baby!
Mamaw bought Ani a new baby at Wal-Mart and she loves it. Of course, Ariel is her favorite. She has taken it to school everyday and reads to it every nights. Too, cute. She asked me to take a picture of her with it!
Kisses
Someone has learned to give kisses. He and sister love each other. They will hate to see this picture in their teenage years when they are fighting. I think I will make a big one and hang it up in their rooms to make sure they remember that they really do love each other!
Watchin TV
He is too cute. Just lounging on the couch watch cartoons. Of course, when he found out I was taking his picture, he had to say Cheese.

More snow
Mamaw watch the kids for us and we got a lot of snow, about 7 inches. She had planned on going to her house (4 houses down from ours) in the afternoon, but didn't make it. Unfortunately, she had already promised the kids they could go outside in the snow. So, when we go home, they were ready to play. It was late and the sun didn't last long, but they still had fun. Ruston likes putting his hands in the snow as long as he has his gloves on.
Well, it is a car
Maybe Santa should have brought the blue one! Ani does like her pink Barbi VW, but not as much as Ruston like to push it around the house!
All by herself
That is a theme of Ani's lately. Believe it or not it was about 6 degrees outside on the day she put this on.
Welcome home Daddy
Virgel had to go on a trip for a week and Ani had the idea to make him a cake for when he came home. She decorated all by herself!
Is it Ruston or Godzilla??
Well as far as Thomas the train is concerned, it is Godzilla. He was pretty proud of himself!
Train fun
Ruston loves playing with his train set in his room. Well, let me rephrase that. We put the train together, and he loves tearing it apart!! Ani and As you can see, Ruston are never far from each other.
Daddy's hat
Ruston had a lot of fun playing with Daddy''s hat the other night. The bad part is, he knows he is cute!
