A MANATEE!!!!!
After living in Florida all that time I always wanted to see a Manatee in the wild and never did. We went for a short boat ride earlier in the day and I briefly saw one. We stopped and waited to see it again, but never did. After we made it back to the dock and Virgel yelled at me in the house. This manatee came right up to Joe and Virginia's dock. It was so awesome. Yeah! I was so excited. Ani and Brad loved it. Brad called it a sea cow.

Vacation to Key Largo
We have made it back home. We had a fantastic time. We went out on the boat, Virgel went fishing and caught another shark and dinner. We went to Disney World. A tropical storm came to visit, a manatee came to the dock - way awesome. We saw dolphins out in the ocean, and we were able to spend a lot of time visiting with great friends. All in all it was a great trip. I will post pictures in a couple of sets so keep looking!
Happy Birthday Virginia!
Virginia's birthday was actually in August, but we had her party the Saturday we got to Key Largo. It was at Gilberts which is a little place on the water. We had a great time.

To say that Tracy ( the one in the white) has been through a lot since we left is an understatement. Believe it or not she recently had brain surgery. Tracey your strength and fight are an inspiration to all your friends! It was awesome to see you and to see you doing so well! Love ya girl - and great party!
Dancing time
We had awesome weather, so the party headed out side. Gilbert's always has a live band playing at night so. . . . with help from a little adult beverages, dancing followed. O.k. so this is a nice picture. . .
A day - almost on the boat
We headed out for a day on the boat, but we didn't get far. Fortunately, Joe and Virginia's boat has two motors, so when one stopped we were still able to get back to the dock. We weren't even five minutes away. We figured out, a couple days later water was in the fuel tank. Virgel and Joe did an awesome job fixing the boat so we were able to go out later on in the week.
Disney World!!
Virginia and I took the kids to Disney World. We had a blast. We were there for just one day and it was enough for all of us. We got there around 10 in the morning and closed the park. The park was decorated in these really cool pumpkins and giant one in the front of the park. It was really neat. The weather was cool and a little rainy, but we stayed out of the little bit of rain that we had and the park was empty. We walked on all the rides. The kids asked, can we go again - so we did. It was a lot of fun!
What a day!
They were totally worn out by the time I took this picture. Ani got that hat early in the morning and I could not get it off of her head. She wore it for the next THREE days. Even on the boat!
Our day at the pumpkin patch
I have never been to a pumpkin patch before. I expected, well pumpkins. Boy, was I wrong. There was so much more than pumpkins. There was tons of stuff for the kids to do. The Last thing we did that day was actually pick the pumpkins. There were 15 kids from Ani's school that went. It was tough keeping up with everyone, but they all had a really good time!
SAND!
Now this was something Ruston could really get into! They had a sand area with all kinds of tractors and stuff for the kids to play with. It was a good spot for the kids to play and the grown ups to rest!
My babies
There is nothing that makes me happier than getting to go on these field trips with Ani. I have so much fun spending the day with her and her friends.
The search!
Each one of the kids got to pick there very own. The boys who decided they needed a bigger one were a little sad about it by the time we had walked all the way back to the cars and they were still carrying that big pumpkin!
Ani's perfect pumpkin
It was fun watching the kids get off the hay ride and go for their very own pumpkin. They all had in mind exactly what they wanted. Some wanted big ones, some wanted little ones, some orange ones, some with green. This was Ani's perfect pumpkin. She was soooo very pround of it. She slept with it for three nights!
basket fun
I was having 'fun' doing laundry while the kids were having fun playing in the basket. Such simple things make them happy. I remember doing the exact same thing when I was there age, some things will never change. Thank goodness for that!

too cool
Well here we go. We are heading off for our vacation. 10 days in the Keys. Ani is so excited to see Brad she didn't even want to stop at McDonalds! We are staying at a hotel tonight since we have a 6 am flight - what was I thinking. Virgel and I have new phones with internet acess and everything else so I am blogging while Virgel drives down the road. This is too cool! (Excuse typos!)

Plane rides
Ruston loves plane rides and to flip from your shoulders. You have to be careful with him because once he does something once, he knows how. He will flip again whether you are ready or not! The best part is his laugh!

Mommy's Boy
That is right, he is Momma's boy and I love it! He is so much fun and loves to play with Mommy.
Blue!
Need I say anything other than blue! He is so sweet, but those fingers. We can't keep them out of his mouth. I am not ready to make a fuss over it yet. It is cute after all.
Like my new clothes!
Yup a little cold weather is a great reason for Mom to shop! I was afraid they were going to accuse me of child abuse after a week of cold weather and no real warm clothes. He looked so cute, dressed up in his new clothes (Dad wont let me call it an outfit) and new shoes.
My pumpkins
Well, I set these pumpkins out on our porch to decorate for fall, the kids thought they were for them. Well they were pretty cute!

Too, cute. I didn't even know that he stuck his tongue out until I looked at this picture. He has learned to say UP. After he slid down he would say UP, UP, UP!

Ruston has learned to slide all on his own down the big slide. He waits until you count one, two three!
I got flowers for momma
Ani and her friend McKinley had the very best time picking 'flowers' for me. I can't believe the pictures of her I just "catch". She knows when I am taking pictures and gives me these little poses. Those eyes, of those eyes!
Back home. . .
I had a wonderful time in Louisiana. It was great seeing everyone at my old work. It is unbelievable that I have only been gone for two years! I didn't get a chance to see everyone or spend as much time with those that I did see, I was there to work after all. Unfortunately I was in a car wreck on Tuesday morning. No one was hurt and I have decided it is easier to "fix" a rental car than one of my own. It was wonderful getting back home to the kids. They both hugged me forever and didn't want to let go of me. It is amazing to see what could change in a week, the house was way dirtier than when I left! The farmers started harvesting and the leaves that had just a hint of yellow color now definitely show fall is here. The temperature is dropping little by little and we have a cold spell now and then. We are actually looking forward to fall and winter. I may change my mind by January! Well, time for the kid's baths and pictures. . .enjoy!

Going on a trip
Well next week I am heading out of town for a work trip. Fortunately, I am heading to Louisiana where I use to work. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again, even though that means I have to be away from home and my babies. Ani wants to type her name, ANI. O.k. she is happy now. a day at the zoo
A day at the Omaha Zoo. We went with some new friends of ours John and Amy. They have two little girls McKinley, 5 and Regan, 1. Ani and Ruston get along with them amazingly. Ani told me that McKinley was her best friend - and Brad too! It wasn't too hot the day we went and we all had a great time.

Well, not everyone was excited about the animals. Ruston held on as long as he could, but the dark areas of the aquarium were just too much. He was pretty comfy in his little red wagon.

The aquarium area has a tunnel you walk through. As we walked through this beautiful sea turtle swam over us. The kids wanted to stay in there forever.

Ani LOVES anything that is in the water. She loved looking at this octopus and watching it move around!
four gigglin little ones
Ruston, Ani, McKinley, and Regan had a great time. The gorilla exhibits had windows that expanded into the area. They had so much fun laying in it. The next window we got to had a gorilla right underneath it! The kids loved it. There was one gorilla that was getting everyones attention by hitting the exhibit wall. There strength is amazing!

At the end of our day at the zoo, all the kids played with a giant granite globe that floats on a film of water. They enjoyed it and all of them ended up getting wet. We had to go buy them new clothes so we could go eat dinner!

I'm still here!
O.k. I know you have been looking for new pictures. I have posted a couple and promise to post more this weekend. We had a thunderstorm about 3 weeks ago. A lightening strike hit so close to the house we lost part of the Direct TV dish, two of the boxes, a phone and the phone line, the internet connection and our wireless router. So, the internet was the last thing we were able to get fixed. I hope you all are doing well. We miss everyone. Love ya, the four of us!
What a mess
So, I have started watching America's Next Top Model. Now I realize this is a silly show, but I like it. I really like seeing the photographs that the girls take. Of course, Ani has been watching it with me. So NOW when I take her picture, I get "model poses". Oh, my. Now what am I going to do with her!!!

What a silly boy. Ruston is so funny. He tries to imitate anything we do. I showed him how to make this silly face at dinner!
