Omaha Zoo

 
Virgel made a road trip to pick up his Mom, so I took the kids to the zoo. Ani had told us that was something that you had to do on summer vacation! Where does she come up with this stuff? We had fun, and I was worn out. The zoo is really big and we didn't make through all of it. Of course, they got to ride in the wagon while pulled them up and down the hills. Ani said we can go back tomorrow to see the rest. . . .maybe not!

Giraffes

 
For some reason, Ruston loves giraffes. He has a little stuffed one he sleeps with, so he was very excited to see this "really big giraffe"! It was so close to the side the kids really enjoyed seeing him.

They love the aquarium. They have so many sharks in there. Ani just keep jumping and yelling another SHARK!!!!

Happy Fourth of July!

 
We had a few fireworks and kids really enjoyed it. I was shocked a how cold it was. The kids and I had jackets on!! We still had fun. This state does have some pretty strict fireworks laws, so we didn't get our usual "big" stuff. Oh, well, the kids didn't notice! We missed you Roger and Naomi.

Big Boys and BIG Toys!

 
This may be getting a little out of hand! Virgel just purchased this lathe. Now what is he going to go with it? Build stuff, what stuff? Apparently what every he wants! He drove 500 miles to get this thing, rented a trailer and a forklift and had to stay over night in Chicago. Not to mention it only weighs 8,000 pounds. I stayed inside while they got this thing off the trailer. I just listened for the noise that would indicate a hospital visit was necessary. Fortunately, they did it safely.

They couldn't wait to play in the water. After Ani first got wet, she asked Virgel if he could turn on the hot water instead of just the cold water!!

Planting

 
Finally planting a few plants around the house. We have only lived here for almost 2 years. I guess that isn't too bad since we only got the grass planted last fall. Ani couldn't wait to help. She lasted through the first plant, then I couldn't find her. She decided she was done!

Crusin'

 
Ani and Ruston love riding around in her car. It is so cute. She kept telling him that she was taking him to school.

Fifteen years ago

 
It started with saying "I do" Fiften years ago and look where we are now. We are happy, with two beautiful healthy, amazing childern. I can't ask for more. I can't to see what the next fifteen years bring.

Crazy Hair Day

 
The next to the last day before school - Crazy hair day. We found most of her pony tails and put them ALL in. The addition of her bright green poofy barrett in the front was just like icing on the cake. She loved it. I had to take a picture at night because I was scared - very scared of what it was going to be in the morning. It survived.

Now - the last day of school. How did that happen. I just dropped her off for the first day. It can't be the last day. A 1st grader, oh my. My little princess is growing up.

Rollie Pokie?

 
Ruston called it a Rollie Pokie - too cute. As I write this I can't help think about how he will think writing these things was torture one day. Hehehehe. What fun.

Ani's Turn

 
She wasn't as freaked out as I thought. We told her that she could put it back in the grass when she was done and the immediately put it down. funny girl.

Goofy boy. You have to look closely, but there is a little rolly polly bug on his index finger. The kids thought it was such fun!
